STATE BASKETBALL PASSES
Tournament passes for the 2018 NMAA State Basketball Championships go on sale Monday, January 29th at 8 a.m. Passes may be purchased at the NMAA Office (6600 Palomas NE, Albuquerque) or over the phone at 505-923-3110. The cost per pass is $135, which includes a reserved seat at Dreamstyle Arena The Pit and a commemorative event program. Additionally, pass holders are entitled to entry into all State Basketball games at all tournament sites, including the first round of state beginning on March 2nd.
SPRING RULES CLINICS ONLINE STARTING FEBRUARY 1
Online spring rules clinics will be available February 1-28, 2018 on each sport landing page at www.nmact.org. Rules clinic attendance is mandatory for all head coaches during their sport season.
FOUNDATION BOWL-A-THON
The 10th Annual NMAA Foundation Bowl-A-Thon will take place Sunday, January 28, 2018, at TenPins & More in Rio Rancho. The cost is $250.00 for each four-person team. If you are unable to participate, you may also make a donation! Come out and support the student-athletes of New Mexico. All proceeds go toward scholarships to student-athletes throughout the state. NMAA STUDENT LEADERSHIP ADVISORY COUNCIL NOMINATIONS
The New Mexico Activities Association is filling vacancies for the 2018-2019 school year on its Student Leadership Advisory Council. The NMAA’s SLAC gives high school students a hands-on experience with the Association and provides them a direct line of communication to the staff. Any NMAA member school administrator may nominate a current freshman, sophomore or junior male and female to be a member of the NMAA Student Leadership Advisory Council. Click here to nominate. NMAA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
NMAA Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students from NMAA member schools who, through the application/nomination process, demonstrate excellence in athletics, activities, academics, and character. COMPETE WITH CLASS NOMINATIONS
In an effort to establish and sustain the Compete with Class initiative, the NMAA will be highlighting acts of sportsmanship through various awards and recognition programs during the 2017-2018 school year. In order to do this, our office NEEDS YOUR HELP! Acts of sportsmanship by individuals, coaches, officials, administrators, spectators, or teams as a whole should be reported to the NMAA office as they occur. AD’s TIP OF THE WEEK
All Scheduled Events Must be Supported by Written Contract. Prior to the start of each athletic season verify that you have a written contract for every scheduled game. Remember that just because you played an opponent the previous year does not mean that game automatically rolls over to the subsequent year.
