Team Captain on Volleyball team
How did you first get involved in volleyball?
“I saw my sister playing volleyball and it was something that attracted me to the sport.”
What made you stay with it?
“It was just really interesting and I liked the way the game worked and the amount of skill involved.”
What lessons did your sister pass down to you?
“She always just told me that it was really mental and you need to keep a positive attitude.”
As a team captain, what is your role on the team?
“I feel like I need to pick up my team and be there for them. When they fall down, I’m going to be there to pick them up.”
As a three-sport athlete, how do you balance your time?
“With being a student-athlete, being a student comes first. I make sure all my work is done before everything else. If I don’t have the grades, I can’t play. You have to be able to manage your time, even when you become an adult. Education is important and should always come first.”
What do you want to do after high school?
“Once I graduate high school, I want to go to college and major in kinesiology. I want to be a physical therapist.”
Why physical therapy?
“I’ve been hurt before. When I saw what they were able to do and how they helped me, it drew me to go and help others.”
