STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SCORES AND HIGHLIGHTS
CLASS 6A
Cleveland 48, Rio Rancho 40
The Storm and Rams went score for score for four quarters and Cleveland came up with their biggest play in the final minute. Rio Rancho drove all the way down to the one-yard line with a potential game-tying score, but the Storm stopped running back Eric Vigil on fourth down preventing any late-game heroics. Cleveland running back Dorian Lewis rushed for over 200 yards and five scores. Rio Rancho quarterback Isaiah Chavez had four scores of his own. It’s Cleveland’s third state football championship.
