ATRISCO HERITAGE COMPLETES IMPROBABLE COMEBACK AGAINST TOP-RANKED CLEVELAND (PLUS WEDNESDAY BASKETBALL SCORES)
It was a district matchup between the two-time defending state champs and the current #1 team in the state and it turned out to be one of the biggest comebacks of the year. Atrisco Heritage hosted Class 5A Cleveland on Wednesday night. The top ranked Storm jumped out to an early 36-8 lead over the Jaguars. Cleveland found themselves up 42-17 at halftime. The second half proved to be a different story.
Atrisco Heritage rallied from a 28-point deficit to come from behind and beat Cleveland 70-68. Atrisco Heritage senior guard Joziah Ramos led the charge with 46 points, 19 of those in the final quarter. Atrisco improves to 13-6 on the year, 3-0 in district play. Cleveland is now 17-2 overall and 0-2 in district.
