Dan and Lucille Wood/Gray Gladiator Athletic Scholarship presented by Subway – Tristan Sena – Melrose HS
The New Mexico Activities Association is excited to announce the recipients of the 2019-2020 NMAA Foundation Scholarships. Over 150 students were nominated or submitted applications, with a total of $22,000 being distributed through 18 different scholarships. There were nine scholarship categories. The NMAA will recognize each of these students individually on our website and social media platforms.
Tristan Sena from Melrose High School received a $1,000 Dan and Lucille Wood/Gray Gladiator Athletic Scholarship presented by Subway.
Tristan Sena, a senior at Melrose High School, carries a 4.07 GPA, while participating in baseball, basketball, football and track & field. Sena has been a member of seven state championship teams during his high school career, including four in football, two in basketball and baseball, and one in track & field.
He has been named an All-District selection at a variety of positions in football, collecting a remarkable eight All-District picks and 15 All-State honors in baseball, basketball, football, and track & field.
In addition to his athletic career, Sena has been a member of FCA, BPA, FFA, the Melrose Dinner Theater Production and National Honor Society. He has also been the school’s class secretary for three years.
