Hobbs 58, Volcano Vista 43
The top seed outscored the Hawks 15-4 in the final quarter. Hobbs was led by Wisdom Anthony with 23 points.
Melrose 47, Logan 39
Melrose outscored their rival 20-9 in the final quarter. Shannon May and Hailey Martin each added 12 points.
BOYS
Las Cruces 65, Capital 53
The Bulldawgs won their first state title since 2013. Las Cruces outscored Capital 20-10 in the second quarter.
Valley 67, Highland 61
The Vikings won their second straight state title with four players in double figures. Marcus Voss and Gio Casaus each scored 15 points.
Bosqe 65, Sandia Prep 57 (F/OT)
Bosque’s Anthony Sanchez hit a pair of three pointers in overtime to help the Bobcats win the school’s first basketball title. Eli Davidson finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists.
Pecos 63, Magdalena 53
The Panthers trailed by one at halftime, but put together a 24-10 run in the third quarter. Pecos had four players in double figures led by Xavier Padilla and Ismael Villegas who each had 16 points. Joren Mirabal had 20 points for Magdalena.
Melrose 59, Maxwell 56
The Buffaloes win their third straight state title. Tate Sorgen led Melrose with 20 points.
