LOS ALAMOS HIGH SCHOOL GOLFERS THANKFUL FOR THEIR NEW CLUBS
Four-time PGA Tour winner Notah Begay III, along with Realty1 of New Mexico and the Santa Ana Pueblo, awarded brand new PING golf clubs to the three Los Alamos High School golfers who had their clubs stolen at the state tournament.
“Bad things happen in life from time to time, but it’s at these moments that we must come together as a community to support our kids,” said Begay.
This past May, Connor Cook, Gabby Mowrer, and Natalie Crawford of Los Alamos High School all had their golf clubs stolen out of their van prior to the start of the 2022 State Golf Championships. Santa Ana Golf Club/Twin Warriors Golf Club helped provide replacement clubs for the event. With the help of Realty1 of New Mexico and the Santa Ana Pueblo, the three student-athletes will receive new PING clubs, along with a golf bag. “We are pleased to be a part of a happy outcome for a very unfortunate circumstance,” said R1 CEO Mike Taylor.
“This is a wonderful example of the golf community coming together to help make things right,” said PGA General Manager/Director of Golf at Santa Ana Golf Club Derek Gutierrez.
“My heart broke for the kids who had their clubs stolen and to see local groups step up to help make the best of a bad situation is what Competing with Class is all about,” said NMAA Executive Director Sally Marquez.
