CARLSBAD BASEBALL REACHES MILESTONE MARK
On Friday, the Carlsbad High School Cavemen beat Roswell High School in a doubleheader 17-5 and 10-2. With those two wins, Carlsbad now has 1401 wins.
According to the National Federation of State High School’s Record Book, the Cavemen become the 6th school nationally to win 1400 or more games all-time. Carlsbad High School started their baseball program in 1947. The Caveman have won 12 state titles in 16 state championship games. With this season’s team, the Cavemen will have a record 63 state tournament appearances in their 77-year history. They have had only 3 losing seasons.
