New Mexico Lands 3 Schools In Esports National Rankings
The 2024 NMAA Esports State Champions will be crowned in Albuquerque this week. Heading into the final days of the postseason, three New Mexico schools are getting some national attention. PlayVS released the first-ever Super 25 rankings, spotlighting the best Esports teams across the country. New Mexico has three teams ranked in the top 10 in the country. Los Alamos High School is ranked 4th with a winning match percentage of 84.44% and a winning game percentage of 79.89%. The Hilltoppers compete in 5 of the leagues offered. The La Cueva High School program is ranked 5th with a winning match percentage of 83.81% and a winning game percentage of 73.77%. The Bears take part in 9 total Esport leagues. West Las Vegas High School is ranked 8th in the country with a winning match percentage of 77.78% and a winning game percentage of 74.40%. The Dons compete in 7 Esport leagues.
PlayVS analyzed the performance of all schools competing in their seasons. Schools must actively compete in at least five unique Esports titles to be eligible. Schools are ranked by the average match-win percentage of their top-performing team within each Esports title. Southside High School in Arkansas has the top ranked program in the country, winning 90% of their matches.
The semifinals and finals of the 2024 NMAA State Esports Championships, presented by Riverside Technologies, Inc. will begin Thursday at the APS Berna Facio Development Center.
