DION’S STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: RACHEL BURNETT, ESTANCIA HIGH SCHOOL

 In General News, Press Releases

Each month, we will spotlight a student from New Mexico who is involved in various athletics and/or activities.  Here’s a look at this month’s Dion’s Student Spotlight.  She is a sophomore who is very active and involved at her school.  She plays volleyball, basketball, and track, as well as participates in FFA, BPA, and is a member of the ski club. “Basketball used to be my least favorite, but it’s grown into something I really enjoy,” she joked.  “Basketball used to make me want to cry, but I told myself I’ll give it another shot.  We started to go on more tournaments and trips with the team that made it more fun and we started to lift each other up and the program improved.  Now I look forward to it and it’s become a very important part of my life.”  She believes being involved in school helps grow character.  “You go through experiences that will shape you as a person and help how you respond to things in the future and help make life enjoyable.” Meet Rachel Burnett of Estancia High School.
