DION’S STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: DANNI THOMPSON, SANTA ROSA HIGH SCHOOL

Each month, we will spotlight a student from New Mexico who is involved in various athletics and/or activities.  Here’s a look at this month’s Dion’s Student Spotlight. She is a senior at Santa Rosa High School who is involved in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Her favorite part of being a three-sport student-athlete is being a part of a team year round. “I like that have a team and can depend on others,” she said. “Being involved is great, you meet lots of friends.”  Her focus is more about making life-long memories rather than winning championships. “Trophies are a part of it, but what you get out of sports is the memories,” she said. After high school, she plans to attend New Mexico State University and study education to eventually become a teacher. “My mom is a teacher, and I come from a long line of teaching and I see how rewarding it is,” she explained.  Meet Danni Thompson from Santa Rosa High School.
