MARILYN SEPULVEDA MEET OF CHAMPIONS
Track and field student athletes from all classes went head-to-head at the annual Marilyn Sepulveda Meet of Champions on Monday. Eldorado High School’s Gianna Rahmer set a new meet record in the 1600m race, posting a time of 4:55.20. The freshman’s time was more than six seconds faster than the previous record posted by Gallup standout Felicia Guliford back in 2002. “I wasn’t going for the record,” said Rahmer. “It’s a beautiful day and a really nice track. It’s fun to break meet records, but I’m looking to break my own PR’s now.”
Here are some of the highlights from Monday’s action on the track.
