Those include: HOSA, Science Fair, Choir, Concert Band, Esports and Athletic Training Challenge. Good Luck to all the competitors this month. For more information about one of these activities visit nmact.org.
SUMMER CONFERENCE – July 18-19
Remember to mark your calendar for the Summer Conference! We especially want to highlight the program for SLAC this year, we have two great speakers coming – Craig and DJ Hillier and we would like to get to at least 100 SLAC participants. No cost and includes a book for each student!
SPRING SPORTS OFFICIALS APPRECIATION WEEK
Spring Sports Officials Appreciation Week will take place next week from April 7-12, 2025. Participation in spring sports officials’ appreciation week can be as simple or as extravagant as you want it to be. Many schools will not only get their teams involved in the fun but will ask student groups on campus to get involved. It is a great community project for school student councils, spirit groups or other groups that serve as ambassadors to your school and community.
2024-2025 NMAA MEMBER SCHOOL PARTICIPATION SURVEY
Attention Athletic Directors – Click here for the 2024-2025 NMAA Member School Participation Survey. This survey will be used to collect student participation numbers in both athletics and activities for member high schools across New Mexico and will be used to account for participation in activities for the Director’s Cup. The New Mexico Activities Association is again working with the National Federation of State High School Associations to collect this data and your assistance is greatly appreciated. The deadline to submit your school’s participation survey is Monday, April 14th. Although you may only be able to directly provide student participation numbers for athletics, please work with your colleagues to provide as much data as possible for activities as well. If you have any questions regarding this year’s participation survey, please do not hesitate to call Jackie Martinez at (505) 923-3281 or by email at [email protected].
JOIN THE NFHS NETWORK & GET PIXELLOT CAMERAS FOR $2500/each.
The NFHS Network is offering Pixellot cameras for your football field, gym, baseball, or softball fields to stream your varsity and sub varsity games at a much-reduced cost of $2500/each. This includes free installation. Even if you already have cameras in your stadium and gym but would like to expand to baseball and softball or any other sports, you can get cameras at this price. If interested, please contact J.P. Murrieta or Tyler Dunkel in our office.
AIR QUALITY REMINDER
As the windy season begins, air quality can be a concern. The NMAA has no mandate when it comes to Air Quality, but if the Air Quality Index is above 150, schools may want to consider suspending or postponing practices or games.
COMPETE WITH CLASS SCHOLARSHIP
The New Mexico Activities Association, in conjunction with the NMAA Foundation, will be awarding a maximum of five(5) $1,000 Compete with Class scholarships during the 2024-2025 school year. Awards will be given to students that best exemplify the three pillars of the Compete with Class sportsmanship initiative – Respect, Integrity, and Responsibility. Recipients will be selected by the NMAA Foundation Board of Directors based on recommendations from the NMAA and its member schools.
