OFFICIALS APPRECIATION WEEK
Oct 1-7 is Officials Appreciation Week! Many of you have done some great things in the past to make this a great week. Send us your photos and video clips of Appreciation Week activities! Here are some ideas:

o Officials’ appreciation week banners and signage on the fence, wall, etc., surrounding the contest playing area.
o Gift cards/cookies/donuts/other items presented to the crew by both the home and visiting team.
o Photos of the officiating crew with both teams and coaches prior to the start of the game (or at the end, depending on timing).
o Read a PSA at the start of the game, thanking the crew for working the contest.
o Student escorts of the crew onto the field/court/pitch.
o “Thank you” cards, signed by the team and coaching staff.
o Special appreciation signage in the officials’ locker room.
o Recorded “thank you” messages from student-athletes and coaches to officials, posted on social media.

TEAM PHOTO POSTING DEADLINES
Per NMAA bylaw 3.9.3, team photos must be posted to MaxPreps team pages for Cross Country, Football, Soccer and Volleyball. These photos should be posted at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the State Championships. Failure to do so will subject the school to a $250.00 fine per program.

MANDATORY SPIRIT CLINIC
The NMAA will hold its annual mandatory Spirit Clinic, October 21st at Eldorado High School. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. This clinic is mandatory for ALL spirit head coaches.

HUDL VIDEO UPLOAD
Athletic Directors, please remind your football coaches to have their games uploaded to Hudl following their contests. The deadline for games played on Thursday and Friday is 1 p.m. on Saturday. For games on Saturday, the deadline is 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.

MAXPREP SCORES
Reminder to input your final score into MaxPreps as soon as possible, following your contest. Having an accurate schedule on MaxPreps with the final score is vital to the seeding & selection process for State Championships.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP ADVISORY COUNCIL REGIONAL MEETINGS
The NMAA will hold a Student Leadership Advisory Council Regional meeting in your area. We are asking our Athletic Directors to send two representative from your school to one of these meetings. Please contact Tammy Richards at tammy@nmact.org with the student’s names or for any questions.

AUDITING SCHEDULES & DRAGONFLY REMINDERS
The start of the regular season is upon us! Just a reminder to please audit your schedules each week to ensure you have officials scheduled for all contests with accurate game dates and times!

The new travel ring policy is now in effect. Remember that you no longer need to determine driver, rider and meal fees. Everyone on the crew receives a travel fee, calculated one-way from each official’s home address to your contest site. That means if the individual official lives 30 miles one-way from your site, they are paid the fee from the 26-50 mile tier ($30), not 60 miles for the round trip! DragonFly will auto-calculate the correct rate for each official for you by selecting the “NMAA Travel” rule on the “Manage Payments” tab after your event. See this video ‘how-to’ link: https://youtu.be/gB_a5KluqHA
