DION’S STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: DANIELLE BECENTI, NAVAJO PREP SCHOOL

 In General News, Press Releases

Each month, we will spotlight a student from New Mexico who is involved in various athletics and/or activities.  Here’s a look at this month’s Dion’s Student Spotlight.  She is a student athlete at Navajo Prep in Farmington who is passionate about cross country. “Running is very significant in my culture, and it’s taught me discipline and how to be tough,” she said.  Speaking of tough, this senior is also a powerlifter at the school. She’s also a part of the school’s peer-to-peer support group called Natural Helpers, as well as an advocate for student wellness and well-being.  “I’m also an advocate for my culture as well,” she added. “I get to see a lot of the problems out there and I can be a part of fixing it; not only in my school, but beyond, in looking for possible answers.” Her motto is, ‘It’s up to you.’  “It’s up to you to do what you want to be disciplined, if you want it, go get it. As adolescents, we’re still growing and developing, and having a strong mindset allows us to have that drive and solve real-world problems and be a part of a community that is able to love and care for one another.” After high school, she wants to pursue an education for a career in physical therapy. Meet Danielle Becenti from Navajo Prep School.
