BEST OF THE BEST ARE SET TO GO HEAD-TO-HEAD ON THE TRACK
It’s a one day, one heat/flight all-star caliber event. The best of the best on the track in all classes will go head to head on Monday at the annual Marilyn Sepulveda Meet of Champions. The top individuals in each event (no relays) are invited to compete. Here are some of the athletes/top qualifiers to watch:
Girls
Sandia’s Adriana Tatum in the 100m & 200m dash
Mayfield’s Reagan Gorzeman in the 400m & 800m run
Albuquerque Academy’s Jane Archibeck and Zoe Hunter in the 1600m run
Eldorado’s Jasmine Turtle-Morales in the 3200m run
La Cueva’s Israel Swanson posted the top time in the 100m high hurdles (but the top 8 competitors are separated by 1.5 seconds)
Sandia Prep’s Sevilla Duran posted the top time in the 300m intermediate hurdles (but the top 8 competitors are separated by 2.6 seconds)
La Cueva’s Emily Ho and Faith Powell of Taos both qualified in the high jump at 5’4”
