JROTC HISTORY AND BYLAWS
JROTC teaches young people leadership, teamwork, and citizenship. Specifically, JROTC develops citizenship through self-reliance, responsibility, and community service. It helps students improve their academic standing, graduate from high school, and prepare for the next level.
Emphasis is placed on effective communications skills, physical fitness, positive self motivation, and working independently and as part of a team. By being a member of JROTC, students can become involved in many extracurricular teams such as Armed and Unarmed Drill, Color Guard, Physical Fitness, Orienteering and, at many schools, the Air Rifle Team. Local, regional, and national competitions are held in all these events.
